Dear Friends and Ohana,

This coming weekend has a very important summit on Oahu called the Hawaii International Drug Trafficking Summit, it’s actually for the police nations to get together and talk about how they can take more liberty away from the good people of Hawai’I and others in my opinion.

There’s going to be a lot of attention in the newspapers talking about drug policies: more of the same. Zero talk about the 40-year failed drug war(s). At the same time, it’s coming very close that our attorneys are wanting Roger and I to plea bargain this next week. We still are anticipating our miracle that will secure a better than imagined outcome. Let this summit signal the end of the war on drugs and the beginning of a dialog and a sane global policy.

One of the most profound things that you could do for us, Roger would say, “Please write an editorial or letter to the editor on my behalf.” Please, even if you zero consider yourself a writer, write a letter anyway, from the heart.

At the same time, we’re getting married this next week over at the prison, Once I am his wife, I will have the privilege of visiting Roger, my beloved, for the first time in the 15 months, I have yet to be able to speak to him in private or simply touch his hand during his wrongful incarceration. Please consider your editorial as a wedding gift for us to be part of the miracle.

Mahalo nui loa.

I have a vision of having 70 people write to the Star Bulletin newspaper on Oahu in the next three days to ask that Roger be set free, with his good name restored.

Will you be one of those 70 angels for Roger and me? If so, please email me as soon as possible so I can add your name to the list of writers.

Editorials have to be 175 words or less. You can send them to:

[email protected]

PS I’m attaching a few letters as samples, as Roger wants good manners on his behalf. I am the firey one. Be bold my friends!

Mahalo so very much, many blessings!

Sample Editorials:

Cannabis prohibition is a direct measure of the incompetence of our state and federal governments. Every human being, and in fact all vertebrates, make marijuana-like compounds known as endocannabinoids. They literally regulate all body systems including the, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, immune, excretory, nervous, musculoskeletal systems. They regulate our appetite. Every person on the planet gives themselves the munchies every time they get hungry by activating portions of the endocannabinoid system. Taking a warm bath soothes as our aches and pains while it relaxes us because endocannabinoids levels are increased as the try to down regulate the extra heat.

In reality, increasing cannabis activity, by using the only plant that can directly tap into the endocannabinoid system, has antiaging, and anticancer properties. Psychoactive endocannabinoids are even found in mother’s milk. Perhaps law enforcement should be arresting nursing mothers, or maybe all women for walking around with paraphernalia.

Roger Christie knows of the benefits that cannabis has to offer mankind. His religion demands he use it and help others to use it. America was founded on religious freedom not as a police state. Free Roger Christie to help free us all..

BEGIN A SANE POLICY ON CANNABIS – LIBERATE ROGER CHRISTIE

Reverend Roger Christie and thirteen others were arrested in July 2010 in connection with the cannabis ministry in Hilo. The State of Hawaii licensed Roger to marry people as a cannabis church minister. Roger advocated a sane approach to the use of cannabis. Time after time, Roger requested that elected officials pay attention to the National Institute of Drug Abuse study, which concluded the methamphetamine (known as “ice”) problem in Hawaii was caused by the drive to eradicate cannabis. Now, Roger is held without bail in federal prison, awaiting a trial where federal prosecutors want him sentenced to 5 to 40 years. This week, we have the Hawaii International Drug Trafficking Summit at the Hyatt in Waikiki. Please write to your newspaper editors and your elected officials asking that our government move towards a more sane policy on cannabis, save your tax dollars, and free Roger Christie.

CORPORATIONS PROFIT WHEN YOU GO TO PRISON

A disturbing trend is emerging. Private corporations have begun to run our prisons. The largest of these is the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA). According to its 2010 annual 10K SEC filing, CCA operates 66 correctional facilities with 90,000 beds. Like all corporations, CCA wants to continue to grow and turn a bigger profit. Its annual report states one of the risks to making more profits is that “any changes with respect to drugs . . . could affect the number of persons arrested, convicted, and sentenced, thereby potentially reducing demand for correctional facilities to house them.” Apparently, we have to continue the drug wars, because CCA and corporations like them have to continue to fill their beds. Does this send a chill up your back? If so, please contact Congresswomen Mazie Hirono (https://hironoforms.house.gov/ContactMe/Email.htm) or Colleen Hanabusa (https://hanabusa.house.gov/contact-me/email-me) asking them to end the drug wars and deny funding for privatized prisons.

Share E! I am so very excited for you and Roger and your upcoming nuptials! While this is not the wedding you imagined for yourselves at least it will give you and Roger access to each other after all this time. Fifteen months … too long - never should have even started. I don’t understand why we can’t get people more riled up about what is happening to Roger? You are both in my prayers everyday and I really appreciate your Facebook updates - although it seems you have disappeared from there? Hugs and Peace to you both. My prayers will continue.
