Share’s Letter to the Editor of the HTH

Roger Christie has been held without bail at the Honolulu Federal Detention Center since July 8, 2010. His trial on federal drug trafficking charges has been set back repeatedly, and is now scheduled for Febrary 28, 2012. While Rev Christie is able to make phone calls and received emails under restricted conditions, he must pay dearly for the privilege. The Federal Detention Center charges him about $600 per month for phone calls, emails, and access to the prison commissary.

US Marijuana Party: Free Roger Christie

On October 2, 1937 Samuel R. Caldwell became the first person jailed under the Marihuana Tax Act. He was sentenced to 4 years hard labor at Leavenworth Penitentiary and a $1000 fine. He died one year after release from prison.

One day there was a last 'witch trial' and the terrible horror of centuries ended forever. It's our prayer, intention and goal that there will also be a 'last marijuana trial' - and that this will be it.
